Costa Rican Artisans Anna, March 7, 2013 Costa Rican Artisans is a site where handmade arts and crafts work is offered and their creators are artists from Costa Rica and Central America. This site lays special emphasis on indigenous artwork as their commitment is to provide a platform to the rural and indigenous people so that they also get recognized and admired by the world for their beautiful artworks. This site is especially dedicated to the indigenous people as they were the foremost population that lives in Costa Rica since the beginning of times and because their artwork is pure and truly depicts the life and culture of Costa Rica. The platform of Costa Rican Artisans works on a fair-trade system where the artist is paid as soon as his/her painting or craftwork is sent to the customer. The owner of this site (an indigenous himself) thinks that these people of Costa Rica are what makes it so special and their artworks are incredible so they should be given a chance to present themselves to the world through their art and in this way the oldest of the traditions will stay alive and preserved. The store showcases art and craftwork of five different tribes of Costa Rica; the Maleku tribe, the Bribri tribe, the Brunca tribe, the Guaymi and the Chorotega tribe.
