It is situated at the School of Marine Biology at the National University. It displays more than 1900 examples of both Costa Rican and international sea creatures and insects. The museum features numerous fishes, tropical birds and exotic reptiles. While the marine creatures are quite popular, the real fun is to observe the astonishing little bugs. The vividly colored invertebrates are there all year round ready to impress the viewers. Tourists will be startled to see the breathtaking colors and amusing patterns the insects put on. Admission to museum is free of cost, thus it permits the vacationers, especially students and backpackers, to enjoy the animals and to increase their knowledge without having to worry about the budget.
