Presidential Challenge 2013 Anna, March 1, 2013April 14, 2013 Behold! Anglers, captains and boat owners. The Billfish Foundation is once again returning to Costa Rica for its most awaited event on the calendar, The 17th Annual Presidential Challenge 2013. The Billfish Foundation has been working limitlessly all around the world for the conservation of billfish and other kinds of marine life, not just to improve the well-being of waters but also to help fishing industries and hence, the economy. The ground for The Presidential Challenge was laid when the seven states of Central America; Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama joined hands with Billfish Foundation to save lives of billfish and other game species and to revive the fishing sport and tourism in these countries. The Billfish Foundation embraces its partnership with all captains, mates, anglers, tournament directors, clubs, fishing sport and recreational businesses of the region. It strives to organize, develop, and manage plans that are for the benefit of billfish, anglers and economy. Since funds are the basic needs of any such foundation, The Presidential Challenge plays its part as a fundraiser for the organization apart from being the most entertaining and anticipated event for its participants. This year, the dates for the tournament in Costa Rica are February 28th-March 3rd 2013. The event will be hosted at the hotel resort, Villas Playa Samara. The final day of fishing will be followed in the evening by the Awards Party at Villas Playas Samara sponsored by I.C.T. The participants will be escorted to the airports on March 4th, 2013. The tournament provides facilities and entertainment for the participants such as ground transfers, fuel for their boats on 28th Feb and 2nd March, and discount on car rental services, cocktail parties, and gala awards dinner.
